UCCA is responsible for the running of the Uig Community Centre, Uig, Isle of Lewis.

The Uig Community Centre was opened in 1998 with funding from various bodies as well as the £20,000 raised by the local community.

In 2007 an extension was built which incorporates the Fire Station, commercial kitchen, meeting rooms, a computer suite and storage facilities.

The Centre is run by a volunteer committee who put on events year round to raise funding for the up-keep of the facility. Without these events, our Gala day and our Tearoom, the centre would struggle to operate as it does.  It is a well used facility which is a vital lifeline to such an isolated community.

Events are run on a voluntary basis, with many members of the community coming out to lend a had.  Our events include Quiz nights, Meals nights, Ceilidhs, Talent nights, the Gala day (usually held on the first saturday of July).

Have a look around our site to find out more about the centre and Uig itself.
